“Octopus Garden” Free-Style Fabric Quilt

“Octopus Garden” is the song from the Beatles, Ringo Starr.
I start sketching ideas and transfer the sketch to Photoshop. Photoshop is a quick way to add colors and to make a pattern. I print out the color pattern and pick up color fabrics from dark to light to match the colors from the print. Finally, I cut out small pieces of fabric. I sew pieces of small cuts of fabric together into larger pieces to produce a whole object. It is similar to working on jig saw puzzles. The octopus is made from different size shirt buttons sewn on the fabric. The jellyfish and sea anemones are made from pipe cleaners sewn to fabric.
